Job Summary
Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human‑robot interaction. Works with cross‑functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications.

Essential Functions
- Assists with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
- Supports or performs the program installation, testing, and maintenance of robots or automated components.
- Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
- Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, completes repairs and provides preventative maintenance.
- Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem‑solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Technical troubleshooting. Test documentation. Control systems.
Physical Requirements
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
Travel Requirements
