Job summary

Closure Systems International Inc. is seeking an Automation Technician to design, develop, install and upgrade machine controls for manufacturing equipment at the Erie plant.

The role collaborates with the Electrical Controls Engineer, provides PLC and drive support, and updates electrical schematics and work instructions using AutoCAD. You will troubleshoot, train technicians, and uphold a strict safety culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Entry-Level experience in debugging electro-mechanical systems and controls.
• Configuring HMIs for discrete manufacturing equipment.
• Programming and commissioning motion control systems including multi-axis robots and servos.
• Programming PLC based controls for manufacturing.
• Industrial automation with electro-mechanical and controls work.
• Machine vision applications a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, installation and upgrade machine controls for assigned manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Serve as automation resource for continuous improvement and capital projects with Electrical Controls Engineer.
• Provide PLC and drive support for plant equipment.
• Support electrical design, schematics and drawings using AutoCAD.
• Document electrical modifications and update schematics/drawings/work instructions.
• Read mechanical drawings for electrical requirements with engineers.
• Troubleshoot issues with existing installed systems.
• Foster a safety-first culture and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist in training technicians and supervising safety practices.
• Initiate actions to prevent electrical issues and drive continual improvement.
