Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer for a fully onsite role in Newton, North Carolina. You will ensure products and processes meet quality standards, interfacing with OEM customers, and developing quality control systems in a highly automated environment.

You will lead CAPA, audits, and continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to drive KPIs and quality performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of quality engineering experience in a production environment (automotive preferred).
• Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles, QA and QC methodologies.
• Hands-on with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• CAPA processes and documentation proficiency.
• GD&T reading and interpretation of blueprints and drawings.
• Proficient with FMEA, SPC, control plans, PPAP.
• Root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams.
• Ability to analyze quality data and production metrics.
• Proficient in Excel and Minitab or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with OEMs and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC processes to meet requirements.
• Monitor production to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement CAPA actions.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits (customer/regulatory/IATF).
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and ops to resolve issues.
• Analyze quality data to drive KPI improvements (scrap, NRFT, FTT).
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Review designs and drawings to identify quality risks and mitigations.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other ISO standards.
• Train staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
• Lead automation-related quality projects from concept to implementation.
