Job summary

Niagara Bottling is launching an Automation Development Program in Mesa, AZ to train Automation Sr. Maintenance Technicians for our Maintenance department. The program combines classroom and on-the-job training on high-speed bottling equipment and utilities, starting May/June 2027.

Participants will shadow senior technicians, assist with automation projects, and perform on-demand maintenance while learning through OEM trainings and hands-on practice within the plant.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in maintenance or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred 4 years in maintenance or similar environment.
  • Experience may combine work and education.
  • Travel up to 65% may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and learn from senior maintenance technicians and automation teams.
  • Assist with automation projects.
  • Assist with downed equipment repair during production shifts.
  • Assist with crisis downtime situations.
  • Research and document findings using a computer.
  • Attend OEM trainings and apply learnings at the plant.

Starting May/June 2027!

The Automation Development Program is designed to develop Automation Sr. Maintenance Technicians for Niagara Bottling's Maintenance department. An AAP participant will learn the skills necessary to act as an Automation specialist through a combination of formal classroom training and on-the-job training. Participants will specifically learn how to perform automation functions as it pertains to high-speed bottling equipment and utilities.

Essential Functions
  • Shadow and learn from PLC Sr. Maintenance Technicians, Automation Engineers groups, Automation Specialist groups
  • Assist with automation projects
  • Assist with downed equipment repair during the production shift as needed
  • Assist with crisis downtime situations
  • Research and documentation using a computer
  • Attend OEM trainings and apply learnings upon returning to the plant (at plant's discretion)
  • Perform on-demand maintenance and repair of equipment in the manufacturing facility
  • Complete daily responsibilities assigned by the direct supervisor
  • Explain and demonstrate accomplishment of the learning objectives for each learning activity in both theory and practice
  • Work safely & follow the written procedures to do so
  • Follow & respect company rules, staff and their peers
  • Be at work on time based on their assigned schedule

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: 2 Years - Experience in Maintenance or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 4 Years - Experience in Maintenance or similar manufacturing environment

  • List if any travel is required using percentage of time: 65% of travel may be required
Technician education
  • Ability to understand and do math
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

  • Ability to read blueprints & schematics.
  • Able to stand, sit, squat or reach up to 12 hours per day as required by the specific job.
