Job summary

Niagara Bottling is seeking an Automation Technician III to work on production lines, performing advanced troubleshooting and upgrades on automation systems across Niagara facilities. You will train and mentor plant automation technicians and provide expert support to maintenance teams.

The role requires strong electrical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and the ability to work both independently and with teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the position.
  • 0 years of experience managing people/projects (experience may include a mix of work and education).
  • Preferred 6 years in field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred 6 years in position; 2 years managing people/projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide plant support for Niagara facilities and automation teams.
  • Aid in repairs on production machinery and automation components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues on lines.
  • Perform automated upgrades and upgrades with root-cause analysis.
  • Train and mentor plant automation technicians and share knowledge.

Automation Technician III

As an Automation Technician III at Niagara Bottling, you will be working on the production floor with plant Automation technicians at Niagara facilities around the country. Tasks include performing advanced troubleshooting, upgrades on production lines automation systems and providing technical support to those plants that need help. You will also be responsible for training and mentoring the plant Automation technicians.

Essential Functions
  • Providing Plant Support for Niagara Facilities
  • Provide aid and expertise to plant maintenance and automation teams
  • Aid in any needed repairs on production machinery, as necessary
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex machine electrical issues
  • Automated Upgrades
  • Perform root cause analysis for automated machine upgrades
  • Research and Development of innovative technologies for increased output and reducing labor
  • Technician Training
  • Share knowledge with the plant electrical and automation technicians
  • Seek out training opportunities for team development and report to Technical Engineering Manager
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 75% of the year

Competencies
  • Proficiency in, but not limited to: AB Automation software
  • Siemens Automation software
  • B&R system knowledge for troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.
  • Able to work alone and with others
  • Often sent out for plant support alone with minimal supervision
  • Often working in conjunction with plant electrical maintenance staff
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-Motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative
  • Detail-Oriented with Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce

Typical Compensation Range
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly $28.90 - $41.91 / Hourly
