Job summary

Van Meter Inc. seeks an Automation Design Engineer to design and implement automation solutions for manufacturing clients. You will collaborate with Solution Architects, analyze processes, and develop functional specs and scopes of work.

Travel to customer sites may be required to ensure alignment with designs and successful implementation. Responsibilities include presenting designs, estimating hours, and maintaining automation standards while supporting sales and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design engineering or related field; 3-5 years' experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with automation systems & programming is preferred; knowledge of design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and team to gather information for scopes of work and designs.
• Travel to customer site may be required.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and metrics to recommend improvements and new technologies.
• Review functional specs and design solutions to meet requirements.
• Define scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure and estimate hours.
• Prepare competitively priced solutions while maximizing profitability.
• Present designs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement designs at customer sites and oversee technical implementation.
