Van Meter Inc. is seeking an Automation Design Engineer to design and implement automation solutions for manufacturing clients. You will collaborate with Solution Architects, gather requirements, and develop control-system designs that optimize production and reduce costs.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, on-site implementation support, and collaboration with engineering, sales, and management to deliver robust, standards-based automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3-5 years in industry.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
• Experience with automation systems & programming preferred.
• Experience with engineering design tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather information for scopes of work, system designs, and proposals.
• Travel to customer sites may be required.
• Analyze processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
• Define scopes of work and estimate hours.
• Present designs to stakeholders and oversee implementation at customer sites.
• Develop and maintain automation standards with the team.
