Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Design Engineer to create CAD drawings and specify components in alignment with customer specs and company goals. You will collaborate with sales for quotes, provide field support, and develop system concepts (mechanical, electrical, tooling and fixturing) while scheduling production to meet deadlines.

This role also manages BOMs with pricing, labor estimates and delivery dates, and keeps design documentation current for production improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
1–3 years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
Experience in 3D CAD and machine design preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with sales for final quote preparation and delivery to client.
Provides field support as needed.
Develops system concepts (mechanical, electrical, tooling and fixturing).
Schedules production of jobs in collaboration with the other department staff to meet deadlines.
Develops the Bill of Materials including product pricing, labor estimates and estimated delivery date.
Collaborates with Purchasing to ensure adequate supplies of inventory and components.
Ensures that design and related documentation are updated to reflect changes or improvements discovered during production.
Assists with process documentation and support manufacturing operations.
Develops and implements design standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Creates/modifies CAD drawings according to client requests and design specifications.
