Job summary

Motion Industries seeks a Design Engineer to provide CAD designs, technical specs, product configuration, and production support aligned with customer requirements and strategic plans. You will work with sales for quotes, support manufacturing operations, and update design documentation as changes arise.

The role involves creating CAD drawings, developing BOMs with pricing and labor estimates, and coordinating with Purchasing to ensure material availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field is typically required.
• 1–3 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical field preferred.
• Experience in design, detailing, 3D CAD, and machine design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with sales staff for final quote preparation and delivery to client.
• Provides field support as needed.
• Develops system concepts (mechanical, electrical, tooling and fixturing).
• Schedules production of jobs with other department staff to meet deadlines.
• Develops the Bill of Materials including product pricing, labor estimates and estimated delivery date.
• Collaborates with Purchasing to ensure adequate supplies of inventory and components.
• Ensures that design and related documentation reflect changes or improvements.
• Assists with process documentation and support manufacturing operations.
• Develops and implements design standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Creates/modifies CAD drawings according to client requests and design specifications.
