Job summary

Qnity’s Tralee Park site in Newark, DE is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to join our team. The role focuses on maintaining and improving automated manufacturing systems, including PLCs, robotics, sensors, and control systems, to ensure uptime and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong PLC knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and familiarity with HMIs and SCADA.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in automated manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Experience with robotics or automation systems.
Understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and controls.
Familiarity with HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to PLCs, HMIs, robotics, servo drives, VFDs, and electrical controls.
Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Maintain and improve automated production systems to increase reliability and efficiency.
Support system upgrades, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
Work with engineering teams to implement process improvements and root cause analysis.
Calibrate and maintain sensors, actuators, and instrumentation devices.
Respond quickly to equipment downtime and perform urgent repairs to minimize production delays.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system changes accurately.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
Assist in developing maintenance procedures and best practices.
Train operators and junior technicians on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
