Job summary

Cerro Wire LLC in Hartselle, AL, is hiring Control Technicians to install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify automated production equipment, industrial robots, and electrical control systems. You will work with Maintenance and Engineering teams and report to the Maintenance Lead/Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (preferred)
• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or Automation preferred
• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing or industrial environments
• Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, power transmission, and robotics
• Experience with Allen-Bradley software RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens software (Block logic)
• Experience with CAD software for design
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to safety protocols and safe work practices

Responsibilities

• Respond to all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines
• Plan and execute maintenance for non-routine problems
• Perform root-cause analysis to minimize downtime
• Design, fabricate and install mechanical/electronic equipment and implement program changes
• Engage in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
• Assist in shutdown planning and major maintenance activities
• Complete training and provide on-the-job training to others
• Work with minimal supervision
• Maintain housekeeping in work areas
• Wire and repair electric motors and basic wiring per NEC
• Maintain and troubleshoot AC drive systems and PLCs
• Access and interpret PLC logic via laptop using appropriate language
• Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance including lubrication, repairs, adjustments, cleaning
• Advise operators on operation procedures and safety requirements
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment per safety procedures
• Perform lockout/tagout as required
• Handle additional duties as assigned
