Job summary

ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, seeks an Automation Controls Technician to support advanced automation infrastructure and field‑level PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and networks. You will troubleshoot complex control issues, maintain backups, and drive reliability improvements to keep production moving in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a trade school certification with 6+ years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing, strong wiring/schematic skills, and proficiency in PLC programming

Qualifications

• Trade school certification in a technical field is required.
• 6+ years of practical experience in automated manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, sensors, I/O, networks, and safety systems to rapidly restore production.
• Maintain controlled PLC/HMI backups, configurations, and machine recovery files.
• Develop and execute a spare parts strategy and preventive maintenance program based on downtime exposure.
• Collaborate with OEMs, system integrators, and engineering teams to implement improvements and resolve complex issues.
• Analyze downtime and failure data to identify root causes and reliability improvements.
• Crosstrain and provide backup support for automated mechanical systems.
