Job summary

Carter's Inc. in Braselton, GA, is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and electrical components on our automated material handling and process systems.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to ensure systems run safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, PLC logic modifications, and system upgrades with 1.5+ years of automation experience.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix/CompactLogix) or Siemens platforms.
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems (480V, control circuits, motor starters).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PLCs, control panels, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system faults involving Rockwell/Siemens PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
• Modify PLC logic and HMI screens to improve system functionality.
• Maintain electrical documentation and diagrams.
• Respond to equipment failures promptly to minimize downtime.
