Job summary

BD in Sumter, SC is seeking an Automation Control Technician to support, maintain, and optimize automated manufacturing systems. You will work hands-on with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components, with foundational PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will have a Mechatronics background and a strong understanding of industrial automation principles, plus experience in maintenance, setup, and documentation of equipment performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED + 4+ years of Electronics/Manufacturing experience or equivalent
• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or related field is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, schematics, and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on production equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Assist with installation, debugging, and start-up of new equipment with Engineering
• Maintain equipment logs and document process changes
• Support vision systems and automated inspection tools
• Collaborate with production to resolve equipment issues
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality system requirements
