Job description

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automation Controls Project Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the successful execution of automation and controls projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, controls engineering, and automation systems, with the ability to coordinate teams and to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage automation and controls projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and commissioning of control systems and automation solutions in various industries (e.g., manufacturing, energy, or industrial automation).
  • Coordinate and communicate project requirements, technical specifications, and design changes between teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.
  • Monitor and manage project progress, resolve issues, and mitigate risks to keep projects on track.
  • Manage project documentation, including progress reports, cost reports, and change orders.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Manage project costs and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and analyze project outcomes to identify improvements for future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager in automation, controls, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and control system architecture.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects and coordinate multiple teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
