Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach seeks an Automation & Controls Engineer to design and commission industrial machinery for R&D, test, and production within a fast-paced, agile team.

You will own equipment design from concept to commissioning, create schematics in EPlan, and program PLCs in TwinCAT with diagnostic HMIs.

Required: a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years in manufacturing/test/R&D; travel flexibility and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, test, or R&D.
• Experience designing and commissioning industrial machinery.
• Proficiency with PLCs and TwinCAT programming.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of equipment design from concept to commissioning.
• Create schematics for electrical and fluid systems in EPlan.
• Write and debug PLC software in TwinCAT.
• Select hardware (VFDs, motors, etc.) for applications.
• Develop usable HMIs for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with end users to ensure design intent.
