Job summary
GAF is seeking an Automation and Controls Specialist to lead electrical projects, PLC-based control design, and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing setting. You will mentor a small team of maintenance E/I technicians and collaborate with on-site engineering resources.
The role requires deep electrical knowledge, Rockwell/Studio 5000 proficiency, and strong problem-solving abilities in a continuous process environment. Base compensation reflects experience and location.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in industrial automation or related field, 5+ years experience or HS Diploma with 7+ years experience.
- Strong electrical theory and knowledge of instrumentation.
- Experience with PLC-based controls in continuous process manufacturing.
- HMI development and Rockwell software proficiency required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and installation of electrical/electronic equipment.
- Plan work with solid knowledge of electrical theories.
- Coordinate PMDs with planner; work with maintenance engineer on PM systems.
- Perform design calculations and prepare specs for PLC-based systems.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and support troubleshooting.
