Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer in Wilmington, NC to design, develop, and support industrial automation for manufacturing machinery, focusing on injection and blow molding lines. You will lead control system design, PLC programming, and control panel development to enhance performance, reliability, and safety.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and production teams, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and electrical

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial controls engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with injection molding and blow molding equipment.
• Proficient in PLC programming with Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• Experience with servo drives, VFDs, and motion control.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and create BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system architecture and electrical schematics for machinery.
• Design and build control panels with power distribution, relays, PLCs, I/O, VFDs, servo drives.
• Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and maintain program documentation.
• Integrate motion control systems and tune servo loops for smooth motion.
• Create wiring diagrams and BOMs using AutoCAD/EPLAN; ensure safety interfaces.
• Commission and start up machinery on site; perform FATs/SATs and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, production, quality, and vendors on NPI and improvements.
• Develop and implement control safety interlocks and NFPA/CE compliance.
