Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Orlando, FL is seeking an Automation Specialist II to design control system details, configure instrumentation, prepare for implementation, and lead testing and training.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming (Allen Bradley), HMI development, and collaboration with project teams. You will mentor junior engineers and help define system functionality for various clients.

Qualifications

• 4 years Industrial Controls experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience.
• 4 years of experience in PLC programming
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems
• Proficiency in PLC Programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text
• Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP)
• Experience and knowledge of HMIs

Responsibilities

• Design control system details, instrumentation configuration, preparation for implementation, and testing.
• Develops BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
• Build PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages; develop HMI.
• Develop hardware/software test plans and simulation logic for PLC/HMI testing.
• Train operations and maintenance personnel; mentor less experienced staff.
• Coordinate with customers and installation management to ensure adherence to processes.
