Job summary
Prime Controls L.P. is hiring an Automation Specialist II in Orlando to design control system details, configure instrumentation, and drive implementation from development through testing.
The role includes creating PLC programs, HMIs, and documentation, plus leading small projects and mentoring less experienced engineers. Applicants should have a BS in mechatronics/electrical/computer engineering and 4 years of industrial controls experience, including PLC programming with Allen Bradley and
Qualifications
- 4 years industrial controls experience in AEC or related field.
- 4 years of PLC programming experience.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems.
- PLC programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
- Familiarity with Ethernet/IP networking.
- Experience and knowledge of HMIs.
Responsibilities
- Design control system details, instrumentation configuration, and implementation preparation.
- Develop PLC programs and LDI templates; create HMI interfaces.
- Develop BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
- Lead small projects and mentor junior staff.
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate installed systems with customers.
