Job summary

Zina's Fine Foods is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to own the design, performance, and reliability of our automated production systems on-site in South Plainfield, NJ. You will decide line configurations, equipment purchases, and programming strategies, while directing installation and commissioning work.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent) and 5+ years in industrial control systems, with expertise in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, VFDs, HMIs,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, controls, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years designing, programming, and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
• Expertise with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Experience leading equipment commissioning projects from specification through production release.
• Proficiency with VFDs, servo systems, HMIs, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify PLC control programs for production equipment on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Determine control architecture and integration approach for new lines, including PLC, VFD, HMI, servo, and network topology decisions.
• Evaluate and select automation technologies and develop specs for equipment purchases.
• Define machine parameter standards and operating windows for throughput, giveaway, and quality.
• Plan and direct installation and commissioning of new/used equipment, including scope, sequencing, and acceptance criteria.
• Serve as technical authority for OEM/vendor engagement and safety verification.
