Job summary

Sazerac's Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky seeks a Controls/Electrical Engineer to lead the Maintenance Team and drive reliability across the distillery. You will organize workloads, provide technical support, and manage projects to maintain at least 95% uptime while advancing automation across PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.

You will train 3–5 electricians/instrument technicians, develop SOPs, and ensure safety, quality and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years relevant experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• 3 years hands-on electrical experience; Allen Bradley PLC programming.
• BSEE, BSEET, ASEE, ASEET or equivalent experience.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and planning skills.
• Preferred: AutoCAD and Rockwell Automation training.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a production automation plan for the distillery.
• Develop uniform platform for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and controls; support system expandability.
• Train and supervise 3–5 Electrical/Instrumentation technicians.
• Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
• Meet customer expectations by delivering on time within budget.
• Provide leadership and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Ensure compliance with Regulatory and Environmental guidelines.
• Stay current on technology; train technicians and update maintenance plans.
• Assist in development of preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
