Job summary

Buffalo Trace Distillery seeks a Controls/Electrical Engineer to lead maintenance team activities, ensure uptime, and manage projects across the distillery in Frankfort, KY. You will develop a production automation plan for PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, and supervise 3–5 technicians while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have an engineering degree, 5+ years of relevant electrical experience, and hands-on PLC programming knowledge (Allen-Bradley).

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years relevant electrical experience.
• 3 years hands-on electrical experience and PLC programming.
• Allen-Bradley hardware experience.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance team.
• Develop and implement production automation plans for PLCs/HMI/VARs.
• Support safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Train and supervise 3–5 technicians.
• Ensure uptime via preventive/reactive maintenance and problem-solving.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and maintain documentation.
