Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in the United States is seeking an entry to mid-level Controls Engineer to design, implement, and troubleshoot DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems. You will assist in larger automation projects, lead smaller tasks, and work under supervision.

The role requires strong knowledge of control standards, hands-on field experience, and the ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines while supporting startup activities and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required. PE registration is preferred when eligible.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation.

Responsibilities

• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
• Providing on-site assistance during startup.
• Providing technical guidance to less experienced engineering personnel in the department.
• Coordinating work activities with other staff members and Office Leaders.
• Producing control system installation specifications.
• Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies on small projects as necessary.
• Configuring control systems with emphasis on maintenance and client expectations.
• Reviewing vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for Controls & Automation input.
• Performing fieldwork to gather data and retrieve existing control system configuration.
