Insight Global is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer with strong HVAC and chiller systems experience to design, program, and commission PLC-based control solutions. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and field teams to meet project requirements and ensure reliable operation.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, startup, and onsite commissioning, with responsibility for CAD documentation and BOMs, while supporting customers with technical guidance and training.

Formación

• ABET/accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in HVAC, refrigeration, chiller systems, or controls/process industries.
• Experience with PLCs from Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or AutoCAD and CAD-based documentation.
• Experience with EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP (Rockwell).

Responsabilidades

• Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for automated equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications per electrical and operational specs.
• Configure networks, VFDs, MCCs, chillers, and remote I/O.
• Create BOMs and technical documentation; coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Test, troubleshoot, startup, and onsite commissioning with customers.

• Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for automated plant equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications based on electrical, mechanical, and operational requirements.
• Configure industrial networks, VFDs, MCCs, chillers, and remote I/O.
• Select controls hardware and develop BOMs and technical documentation.
• Coordinate controls integration with electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and field teams.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, startup, and onsite commissioning.
• Work directly with customers to define requirements and provide technical support and training.
• Provide technical direction to controls designers and support project proposals and estimating.

Must Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or relevant disciplines from an accredited University
• Over 4 years of experience in the HVAC, refrigeration, chiller systems, or controls/process industry (Need 2/4)
• Experience with the following:
• PLC Programming Logic (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens).
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Design and Configuration (HMI or SCADA systems).
• EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP (Rockwell)

Plusses

• National Electric Code.
• 3-Phase power and electrical circuits.
• Certifications for Rockwell products and other relevant applications.
