Job summary

Oak Ridge Associated Universities seeks a Control System Engineer for on-site work with Fluor Corporation in Houston, TX. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop automation strategies, control narratives, and system architectures, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have EPC experience, proficiency with instrument datasheets, P&ID development, and DCS/PLC/SIS concepts, and can coordinate with clients and vendors

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required with ability to obtain DOE security clearance.
• Experience in industrial or EPC environments and with engineering/technical analyses.
• Strong communication skills for multi-discipline coordination.
• Ability to analyze technical solutions and develop design criteria.
• Knowledge of control systems, DCS, PLC, SIS, and HMI concepts.
• Experience preparing instrument datasheets and I&C documents.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and make independent recommendations on technical solutions of intermediate complexity.
• Develop and review specifications, design criteria, and control system architectures.
• Perform engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials and systems.
• Coordinate issues with disciplines, PMs, vendors, and clients.
• Ensure work complies with project scope, cost, and schedule baselines.
• Provide support for procurement, submittals, and field changes.
• Create control system narratives and instrument data sheets.
• Develop P&ID/ instrument diagrams and perform sizing calculations.
