Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Capital Strategic Sourcing for Automation to drive enterprise-wide automation strategy and sourcing execution across all divisions.

You will partner with Engineering, Capital Projects, Manufacturing, Legal, and Finance to secure value, reduce total cost of ownership, and maintain consistent procurement practices. Lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and monitor market trends to inform strategic decisions and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, supply chain, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supplier management experience.
• Ability to develop category strategies and negotiate complex contracts.
• Working knowledge of automation equipment, controls, robotics, and systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise-wide automation category strategy aligned with business needs.
• Build and manage a preferred supplier base for automation equipment and services.
• Partner with divisions to aggregate demand and standardize commercial approaches.
• Lead sourcing events, negotiations, and contract development for automation spend.
• Deliver measurable savings, cost avoidance, and total cost of ownership reductions.
• Ensure contract structures, terms, IP protections, SLAs, and risk plans are applied.
• Serve as procurement category lead for automation across Corning divisions.
• Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and regional risks.
