Great Dane LLC seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and support automated machinery and capital equipment from concept through production. You will own mechanical design deliverables, collaborate with manufacturing and customers, and ensure projects meet time, budget, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electro-mechanical design or automation, strong knowledge of sheet metal, welding, machining, and BOM management. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design of electro-mechanical products or automation equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, fabrication methods, sheet metal, welding, machining.
• Familiarity with safety standards and guarding requirements.
• Experience with BOM management and engineering change control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented.
• Experience on multiple projects with tight deadlines; travel up to 20%.
• Experience with motion control, actuators, automation components, Fanuc robotics, and end tooling.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop automation products and capital equipment using CAD.
• Own mechanical design from concept through production release.
• Perform calculations, tolerance analysis, and validation.
• Select components and manage BOMs.
• Apply DFMA, lean principles, and cost-conscious design.
• Create drawings and coordinate with machine shops for fabrication.
• Work with teams to assemble and commission equipment.
• Validate performance and prepare handover documentation.
• Provide technical support to production, service, and field teams.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, planning, quality, and suppliers.
• Maintain engineering processes, workflows, and design standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
