Job summary

3D Infotech is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician to support the assembly and installation of custom factory automation, robotic, and metrology systems. Work alongside mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to build complex automation systems from CAD models and wiring diagrams, in Irvine and at customer facilities across the United States.

This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent accepted
• Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
• Basic mechanical aptitude and tool experience
• Ability to read or learn CAD drawings and wiring diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Able to lift/move heavy equipment
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for field work
• Work independently yet collaborate with engineers

Responsibilities

• Assemble custom automation equipment using drawings and CAD files.
• Install and wire electrical and pneumatic components per diagrams.
• Assist with integration, testing, and system checkout.
• Move, position, level, and anchor equipment during assembly.
• Route cables and tubing; organize utilities for installs.
• Support equipment installation at customer sites.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve assembly issues and improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with inventory, receiving parts, and shipment prep.
• Provide hands-on support across engineering projects as needed
