Job summary

Prime Medicine, based in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Research Associate to join the Automation & Assays team within Technical Development & Operations (TDO). The role focuses on high‑throughput testing of research and process development samples using biochemical, ELISA, and cell‑based assays on automated liquid handling systems.

The ideal candidate will follow established SOPs, generate high‑quality data, and keep the lab ready for daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related life-science preferred.
  • 3–5+ years hands-on wet-lab experience following SOPs.
  • Proficiency with pipetting, dilutions, and basic solution prep.
  • Familiarity with plate-based assays and automated equipment a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing and analysis of R&D samples using ELISA and cell-based assays on automated systems.
  • Follow SOPs and SOP-based procedures, escalation as needed.
  • Record work accurately in Benchling and maintain data integrity.
  • Prepare reagents and plates; maintain cell cultures for routine assay support.
  • Support inventory, consumables, and equipment upkeep.
  • Generate data summaries and present results to the team.
  • Coordinate reagent/sample logistics and storage.
  • Contribute to a safe, compliant laboratory environment and learn new skills.
