Job summary

Bachmann electronic GmbH seeks an Application Engineer to work on real-world automation projects in the renewable energy sector and industry, supporting customers from application development through on-site support.

You will develop and implement PLC and automation solutions, program and test PLC applications and HMI, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver customer-specific applications, with travel to sites up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Technical qualifications in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Basic PLC programming knowledge; IEC 61131-3 languages are a plus.
• Hands-on mindset and enthusiasm for software and hardware.
• Programming experience in C/C++ is beneficial.
• Familiarity with PROFIBUS, CAN/CANopen, Modbus, or Ethernet protocols.
• Knowledge of power systems or renewable energy applications is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a customer focus.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 50%.
• Recent graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply.

Your profile

• Technical qualifications in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation; experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages is a plus
• Hands-on mindset and enthusiasm for working with both software and industrial hardware
• Programming experience in C/C++ is beneficial
• Familiarity with industrial communication technologies such as PROFIBUS, CAN/CANopen, Modbus, or Ethernet-based protocols is a plus
• Knowledge of power systems, grid control, or renewable energy applications is beneficial but not required
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and an interest in solving technical challenges directly with customers
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for technical support, up to 50%
