Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Software Quality Assurance professional in the Arlington, VA area to join our QA team. You will test AAMVA applications, REST services, and microservices, and contribute to test plans and strategies across UI, API, and service layers.

You will build automated test scripts, validate REST APIs, and use virtualization tools to test components in isolation while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced CI/CD environment.

Qualifications

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university; equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree.
3-5 years of software quality assurance and testing experience with a solid understanding of the SDLC.
Solid test-design ability, including edge and negative cases.
Strong analytical skills and learning agility.
Hands-on knowledge of databases and SQL including Azure SQL and Cosmos DB.
Experience with Jira and Azure DevOps/ALM for test management and defect tracking.
Familiarity with Selenium, Postman, or Playwright for automated testing.

Responsibilities

Create, execute, and maintain test cases and contribute to test plans for AAMVA, REST services, and microservices.
Conduct functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
Build and maintain automated test scripts across UI, API/REST, and service layers within CI/CD pipelines.
Perform REST API request/response, schema, status-code, and authentication validation.
Use service virtualization and mocks to test components in isolation.
Manage test data to ensure tests are atomic and repeatable.
