Job summary

The American Association Of Motor Vehicles seeks an experienced Test Engineer to join the IT Division's Quality Assurance team in Arlington, VA. Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in software quality assurance and testing across SDLC.
• Strong test-design ability and edge/negative case coverage.
• Hands-on experience with REST/API testing and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans for applications and REST services.
• Conduct functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and service layers in CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform API testing of RESTful services, including schema validation and authentication.
• Use mocks/virtualization to test components in isolation and manage test data.
• Validate data across Azure SQL and Cosmos DB.
• Collaborate with jurisdictions and partners on testing activities.
• Apply AI-assisted testing tools to speed up test creation and debugging.
• Log, track, and manage defects in Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Communicate issues clearly with steps to reproduce and supporting details.
• Lead testing sessions with stakeholders and customers; gather feedback.
• Contribute to testing process improvements and best practices.
