Job summary

Peraton is hiring an Automation & AIOps Lead to support the Texas DIR program. The role provides technical leadership across automation, DevOps/MLOps, AIOps, and IaC, overseeing the Enterprise Control Plane and Peraton[x] platform. Ideal candidates are in the Austin metro or San Angelo area with deep experience in AI-enabled operations.

The role reports to the Technical Director and drives continuous improvement of enterprise automation and observability across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or 12 years with a HS Diploma.
• 8+ years of infrastructure automation and DevOps/MLOps engineering experience.
• Terraform proficiency is required.
• Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) proficiency required.
• GitLab CI/CD pipeline engineering experience required.
• Experience with AIOps platform operations (Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace Davis AI, or equivalent).
• Experience with ML forecasting for capacity management and SLA breach prediction.
• Experience with ServiceNow integration/development (IntegrationHub, CSDM, ITOM).
• Experience with AI/ML operations (NVIDIA AI Enterprise, OpenShift, GPU scheduling).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain agency clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the WP-6 primary owner for Peraton[x] and the Optional AI Platform.
• Drive agentic operations from transition, including GPU Resource Units and NIST AI RMF governance.
• Lead Enterprise Control Plane engineering, deployment, and operations.
• Drive labor-to-software conversion to reduce FTE by ~21% over five years.
• Manage the Annual Automation Plan, including contractual deliverables and credits.
• Lead operations for Peraton[x] agent family: Predictive Intelligence, Digital Twin, AI-Ops, and more.
• Lead IaC pipeline delivery with Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI.
• Manage the AIOps telemetry pipeline: Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• Support ServiceNow MSI accelerators and CSDM flows.
• Report directly to the Technical Director and co-own the Application Architecture domain.
