Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an Automatic Press Operator for 1st shift (M-Th, 6:30am-4:30pm) to learn duties and support production with lean initiatives. You will work on automatic presses, handle setup, quality checks and documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months in manufacturing. You must lift up to 50 pounds and be willing to train on and work on any shift. Strong math and computer literacy are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to prove mechanical inclination, computer literacy and general math knowledge via aptitude testing.
• Willingness to attend off-site job-related training classes.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent work record and attendance.
• Willingness to train on and work on any shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Owning a set of approved calipers and micrometers is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to stage, set, and troubleshoot dies for automatic presses.
• Learn to load coils, blank feed, operate straighteners and presses to process parts.
• Read and complete production paperwork and tags; use routing system to start jobs and print labels.
