Job summary

Acme Lock and Door is seeking an experienced Automatic Door Technician to join our field service team in Cincinnati, OH. You will install, repair, and maintain automatic doors, entrance systems, and related security products on commercial sites.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of experience, knowledge of electrical systems, and strong hand- and power-tool skills. This role requires lifting up to 75 lbs and working in varied environments, with a full-time schedule and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience installing or servicing automatic doors or similar systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, or troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using power and hand tools.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working in physical environments (lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods).

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, service and maintain automatic doors, operators, ADA operators, turnstiles and entrance systems.
• Troubleshoot issues including mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, sensor or control problems.
• Diagnose issues and recommend solutions to improve system performance.
• Meet with customers onsite to review work and ensure satisfaction.
• Complete service calls, work orders and documentation accurately and on time.
• Track parts, materials, and labor; coordinate with office support teams.
• Manage inventory and vehicle organization; maintain a safe, clean job site.

We are hiring for an experienced Automatic Door Technician to join our growing field service team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, solving problems in the field, and providing excellent customer service. You’ll work directly on commercial job sites supporting the installation, repair, and maintenance of automatic doors, entrance systems, and related security products.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, service and maintain automatic doors, automatic operators, ADA operators, turnstiles, revolving doors, and entrance systems
• Troubleshoot automatic door/operator issues, including mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, sensor, activation , and control-related problems.
• Diagnose issues and recommend solutions to improve system performance
• Meet with customers onsite to review completed work and ensure satisfaction
• Complete service calls, work orders, and job documentation accurately and on time
• Track parts, materials, and labor while coordinating with office support teams
• Manage inventory and maintain organization of your company-issued vehicle
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional job site at all times

Qualifications & Skills

• 1+ year of experience installing or servicing automatic doors or similar systems
• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, or troubleshooting
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using power and hand tools
• Ability to work independently in field environments
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working in physical environments (lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods)

Preferred

• 3+ years of experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or related trades
• Customer-facing field service experience
• AAADM certification or automatic door safety training is a plus

Schedule & Expectations

• Full-time schedule (Monday–Friday)
• Overtime and weekend work as needed
• Participation in an on-call rotation with the technician team
