Job summary

Ideal Innovations, Inc. in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated tests that improve software quality in a CI/CD and AWS cloud context.

You will collaborate with Software Developers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to align tests with acceptance criteria and build automation frameworks using Selenium or Katalon Studio, integrating with Jenkins and GitHub in a commercial cloud.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with at least a CI-poly.
• BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or MS with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in software quality assurance with focus on automation testing.
• Experience creating, authoring, executing and documenting test cases for software products in Agile cadence.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing robust automation frameworks (Selenium or Katalon Studio).
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python for scalable test scripts.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) and integration with automated tests.
• Direct experience with software performance testing in commercial cloud environments (AWS).
• Experience in SAFe Agile and DevOps development environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively to execute test cases aligned with development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile software development initiatives to support testing of new functionality in a commercial cloud environment.
• Assess Story Point/complexity efforts to ensure proper testing and delivery per acceptance criteria.
• Develop automated test approaches focusing on recurring/regression test cases.
• Create automated test cases using Selenium or Katalon Studio for custom applications.
• Leverage DevOps practices to ensure repeatability and maintenance of test scripts.
• Document end-to-end test narratives and support performance testing using JMeter.
