Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a software engineer to help build testing automation for V-BAT and related systems. You will collaborate with GNC and embedded teams to automate tests across simulation, avionics, and hardware interfaces.

You will define test cases for embedded software, implement interfaces to orchestrate environments, prototype scalable solutions, and assist with release test planning for flight milestones. A BS in engineering and C++/Python skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree (CE, CS, EE) or equivalent with a Master’s/PhD.
• Strong C++ or Python skills, basic proficiency in the other.
• Familiarity with git and build/packaging systems (CMake, Poetry).
• Passion for growth and maintaining a high standard of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build software that leverages simulation, avionics, and hardware to automate testing.
• Define test cases for embedded or GNC software and automate them.
• Implement interfaces and drivers to orchestrate simulation environments, hardware, and test equipment.
• Prototype solutions with software & hardware to unblock testing and scale for continuous release testing.
• Support release test planning and execution for flight test events and milestones.
