TSMC Washington, LLC is seeking an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Technician for a fast-paced, on-site role in Camas, WA. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, setup, and troubleshooting on stockers, MDLPs, and automated vehicles within a cleanroom environment.

The role requires 12-hour shifts (day/night rotations) with opportunities to learn software-to-hardware integrations and document repair activities; on-site training precedes the shift structure.

• 2+ years in mechanical, electrical, or automation areas with relevant skills.

Position Overview:

As an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, setup, failure analysis, and electro‑mechanical troubleshooting on stockers, vehicles, and multi‑layer dummy load ports (MDLP) in a state‑of‑the‑art, fast‑paced cleanroom environment.

Shift Structure:

This role operates on a compressed 12‑hour shift schedule (4/3/3/4), with both day and night shifts available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance, setup, and calibration on AMHS equipment (Stockers, MDLPs, and automated vehicles).
• System Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair hardware and mechanical equipment using blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
• Real‑time Monitoring: Monitor the AMHS system for abnormalities, taking proactive corrective action to prevent impact on Fab operations.
• Software & Hardware Integration: Manage system configurations to safely remove or add automated vehicles and devices during alarms or maintenance windows.
• System Recovery: Learn and navigate the AMHS software interface, including restarting applications and troubleshooting software‑to‑hardware communication issues.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with mechanical and software engineers to resolve complex equipment and system‑level issues.
• Documentation: Maintain precise equipment logs, repair data, and detailed shift handoff/pass‑down reports.

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the educational OR equivalent hands‑on experience criteria outlined below:

Education & Experience (Equivalent Pathways):

• Option A: Associate’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Option B: 2+ years of hands‑on experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Mechanical Systems: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining, assembling, or repairing complex machinery.
  • Electrical/Electronics: Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting electrical systems using electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters).
  • Automation Software & Systems: Proven experience operating, troubleshooting, or configuring automation control systems, industrial software interfaces, or databases.

Technical & General Skills:

• Technical Literacy: Strong computer skills, with a solid understanding of database navigation (SQL or similar is a plus) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to follow technical manuals, schematics, and established SOPs to resolve issues.
• Agility: A strong ability to learn quickly, multitask, and adapt to new technologies in a fast‑paced environment.
• Teamwork & Safety: Superb attention to detail with a strict adherence to cleanroom and safety protocols; must be a collaborative and self‑motivated team player.
• Scheduling Flexibility: Ability to work a 12‑hour compressed shift structure (including day or night rotations)

Work Location & Schedule

This position operates on‑site at our Camas, Washington location and is required to work 100% on‑site. Must be adaptable and willing to work on any shift within a condensed 12‑hour shift configuration. Training will be on 8‑hour shift and then move to 12‑hour shift configuration after training.

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation:

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $28.60 and $31.24 per hour. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $28.60- $33.85 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market‑competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
