Job summary

MSTI is seeking a Mechanical Designer to work with small teams to produce 3D models, drawings, and fabrication packages for custom equipment. The role emphasizes Inventor proficiency for glrobe boxes, handling equipment, platforms, piping, furnaces, and more.

Responsibilities include detailed design, BOM development, and collaboration with project engineers to meet performance and safety standards, with QA/QC in all design activities. U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Expert proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with Autodesk Vault preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven capability in design of custom equipment and/or containment systems.
• DOE/DOD market experience is a plus; hands-on experience with listed equipment preferred.
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed Autodesk Inventor models (component, subassembly, main assembly).
• Produce fabrication drawings and equipment datasheets; develop BOMs.
• Organize model structure and drawing tree; maintain file naming conventions.
• Collaborate with project engineers on technical solutions meeting performance and safety requirements.
• Provide design check and review support for packages and drawings.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed in all design activities.
