Job summary

Valmet in Columbus, MS is hiring a Utility Operator to perform mechanically oriented tasks in a manufacturing setting. You will handle Autoclave operations, roll preparation, loading machines, and related maintenance while following strict safety and environmental policies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift 25–50 lbs; forklift operation and use of safety equipment are also expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent; mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of specifications within job functions.
• Capable of wearing respirator and other safety equipment.
• Able to lift 25–50 lbs and move heavy parts.

Responsibilities

• Blasting rolls, cementing rolls, preparing roll for Autoclave.
• Operate Autoclaves and perform minor repairs on them.
• Install/remove bearings and process heads; transport rolls.
• Load machines and move raw material; mix cement.
• Maintain clean work area and observe safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
