Job summary

Sinclair Land Surveying, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking skilled CAD technicians who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to interpret field notes and plat maps.

You will draft site plans and surveys with AutoCAD, review drawings for accuracy, support field crews, and maintain CAD files, while adhering to drafting standards and project timelines. You will work closely with Project Managers, handle data processing, and ensure compliance with survey requirements, delivering precise drawings

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D or land surveying software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret survey field notes, legal descriptions, and plat maps.
• All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings - create, edit, and maintain CAD drawings, legal descriptions, documents, and spreadsheets.
• Draft site plans, forms, and final surveys using AutoCAD software
• Review and quality-check completed drawings for accuracy and consistency
• Interpret field notes, sketches, and survey data to produce precise drawings
• Maintain and organize CAD files and prioritize work
• Verify, compile, process, and prepare data into an electronic drawing format as specified by the Project Manager
• Follow company drafting standards and operating procedures
• Determine builder/production specifications to ensure that specifications are followed
• Identify, scale, and orient geodetic points, elevations, and other planimetric or topographic features
• Survey data to determine positions and elevations of topographic features
• Gather information from all sources
• Support field survey crews as needed with data entry and documentation
• Review field data to ensure survey data and results are compliant with requirements
• Revise existing drawings, making necessary adjustments and corrections
• Inspect final compositions for completeness and accuracy
• Ensure productivity objectives for drawings are achieved
• Perform quality control checks of drawings prepared by other technicians
• Import/Export field data
• Perform other duties as assigned
