Job summary

KellyMitchell Group in Muscatine, IA seeks a CAD Technician to convert rough sketches and engineer concepts into precise 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD. You will read blueprints, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and ensure drawings meet project requirements.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and drafting proficiency for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hands-on drafting experience.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to create and revise 2D drawings.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed plans, layouts, elevations, and cross-sections using AutoCAD
• Translate rough hand sketches, redlines, engineer concepts, notes, and verbal directions into accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models
• Update and revise existing drawings based on client feedback, test results, engineering changes, and team redlines
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and construction or manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and aligned with project requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, measurements, and basic engineering information to develop accurate drawings
• Organize, label, maintain, and update digital drawing libraries, project files, and technical records
• Ensure completed drawings follow applicable project specifications, company procedures, and industry drafting standards
