Job summary

CNS is seeking an experienced Drafter III to support drafting for a federal power administration. You will develop and revise engineering drawings, manage documentation, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure precision and compliance.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAE tools, with at least five years of drafting experience, is required. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects are essential. Office-based role with federal environment coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical drafting certification preferred.
• Min of 5 years drafting experience with AutoCAD proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
• Familiarity with AutoLISP enhancements and CAE tools preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple drafts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Produce new drawings and revise existing ones using AutoCAD and approved CAE systems.
• Translate rough sketches into final drawing packages and ensure template/compliance use.
• Perform quality checks for dimensions and completeness per standards.
• Maintain drawing control and track revisions in DIS and physical/digital files.
• Support CAD systems, libraries, and file transfers on LAN/WAN.
• Coordinate drafting tasks with engineers and other departments.
• Assist with data research and documentation for design, maintenance, and operations.
