Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $58.00/hr

Location: Fully remote, must sit on west coast

Travel: Yes, will be required to travel to facilities 50% of the time

MUST HAVES :

• Minimum of 5 yrs. of relevant work experience
• Has worked within the warehousing and distribution sector
• Experience doing survey work and taking on-site measurements
• Proven ability interpreting architectural, structural, MEP construction drawings
• Extensive AutoCAD 2D experience, utilizing software in advanced capacity
• Has done PDF manipulation and worked with PDF tools
• Space planning/floor plan/layout design experience with large facilities
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

SUMMARY:

The Designer/Draftsman supports design activities for distribution facility design projects. This role is 50% fully remote and 50% travel, they will be required to travel to our active facilities and new construction sites to support validation of drawing measurements. The Designer/Draftsman will be required to perform drafting and related design support activities. The individual must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently, possess excellent communication skills, work well with a team, and interact effectively with multiple levels and various groups/functions within the Supply Chain organization.

DAY TO DAY/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Listens to and knows the customers of the product; gains understanding of customer needs to help determine minimum viable product (MVP) as well as future needs
• Ongoing management of related drawings/designs
• Designing and detailing operational layouts and related component drawings
• Performing material takeoffs for material and labor estimates
• Analyzing and checking takeoffs and calculations
• Reviewing vendor/business partner drawings/quotes for clarity/comprehensiveness; resolving related discrepancies/issues
• Working w/ project management personnel to coordinate requested assignments
• Potential: Coordination of material/equipment order, related installation scheduling and execution of site work associated operational design elements

• Performs full range of tasks for the associated field of work
• Prepares all required drawings for associated work/project assignments
• Works with other Engineers and Project Managers or others to obtain information required to complete work/project assignments
• Applies reasoning and problem-solving skills in order to resolve problems/challenging circumstances; refers overly complex or unusual problems to others
• Applies knowledge of design principles and practices to develop accurate and complete design layouts
• Where necessary, uses related designs and works with other Engineers/Project Managers to determine associated costs to implement
