Job summary

Mickey Truck Bodies in Bloomington, IL is seeking an experienced Autobody Painter to prepare, prime, and paint truck bodies and trailers in a fast-paced shop. You will ensure finishes meet durability and appearance standards while collaborating with production teams to hit timelines.

The role offers full-time hours, competitive hourly pay, and a bi-weekly productivity bonus. Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least two years of autobody or industrial painting experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of autobody or industrial painting experience.
• Strong knowledge of paint prep, application techniques, and materials.
• Experience with HVLP spray equipment.
• Ability to recognize and correct finish defects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming.
• Mix and match paint colors for accurate finish results.
• Apply paint coatings using spray guns (HVLP).
• Inspect and correct defects such as sags, runs, or thin spots.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and material-handling procedures.
• Maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment.
• Apply undercoats, sealers, and topcoats to various surfaces (metal, fiberglass, composites).
• Work with production teams to meet job timelines.
• Record paint usage, color codes, and job details.
• Perform touch-ups and final finish repairs.
