Job summary

The Autobody Painter role at M&L CDJR in North Carolina offers an opportunity to join our Finishing Department and advance toward team leadership. You will prepare, prime, and paint truck bodies to meet our quality standards, while collaborating with production to hit deadlines.

Candidates bring at least 2 years of autobody or industrial painting experience, strong paint application skills with HVLP equipment, and meticulous attention to finish quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years autobody or industrial painting experience.
• Strong knowledge of paint prep, application techniques and materials.
• Experience with HVLP spray equipment.
• Ability to recognize and correct finish defects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming.
• Mix and match paint colors for accurate finish results.
• Apply paint coatings using spray guns (HVLP).
• Inspect and correct defects such as sags, runs, or thin spots.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and material-handling procedures.
• Maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment.
• Apply undercoats, sealers, and topcoats to various surfaces.
• Work with production teams to meet job timelines.
• Record paint usage, color codes, and job details.
• Perform touch-ups and final finish repairs.
