Consumer Reports seeks an Automotive/Tire Technician to join their Auto Testing Team for a one-year term. The role involves servicing vehicles for testing while ensuring high standards of performance and safety. AT CR we know there’s more to testing cars than measuring how the rubber meets the road, after all we’ve been testing and reporting on the subject for over 85-years. We’re on the cutting edge of auto technology-buying and testing over 50+ new cars a year--including EV’s, plug-in hybrids and of course, gas cars-- driving each car 2,000 break-in miles, even before we take the car on our test track.
As an Automotive/Tire Technician on our Auto Testing Team you’ll report to the Auto Test Manager to assist maintain and the our vehicle fleet, as well as,
preparing them for current and future testing.
This is a short-term position (1-year from time of hire). The successful candidate will be expected to work standard business hours, onsite at our Colchester, CT Auto Test Center.

CR members have relied on us to provide valuable, unbiased insights into the safety, performance and efficiency of each vehicle we test. You’ll be an integral part of this process.
In this position you will ensure vehicles and tires are fully prepped for testing by performing all work needed to service, ready and repair test equipment for vehicle and tire test programs. This includes setting up test courses, performing vehicle and instrumentation maintenance as needed, acting as alternate tire and automotive tester, capturing, recording and reviewing copy for the auto content team. You may also be tasked with data checking, cleaning, organizing, entering product information and providing general assistance with day to day tasks.

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
