Job summary

Mark Porter Auto Group in Jackson, Ohio is seeking a motivated Automotive Technician to join the service team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep customers safe and vehicles running smoothly.

We offer a supportive shop environment with a focus on quality over quotas, tools and diagnostic scanners, and opportunities for growth. ASE certifications are valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Formal automotive training or prior automotive technician experience.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Own set of hand tools for daily repairs.
• ASE certifications are valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety issues.
• Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs with precision.
• Diagnose complex mechanical problems using modern diagnostic scanners and your own hands-on expertise.
• Communicate clearly with service advisors about the status of repairs and the specific needs of each vehicle.
• Maintain an organized and safe workspace to ensure quality work and efficiency.
• Keep up with manufacturer updates and technical training to sharpen your skills over time.
