Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises six employees in the Mechanic Shop. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); supplemented by broad trade knowledge equivalent to two years of training in a formal apprentice program or vocational-technical training in automotive repair technology; and over three years satisfactory full-time paid employment in an automotive technician position or a related job; plus one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of satisfactory full-time paid employment for one year of the required education, with a maximum substitution of two years. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
